CatsAdopted Cat with FIV
»
So, the mama kitty I adopted last month is doing great. Except that when we took her to the vet, for her pre-op exam (spaying) we found out she has FIV antiboties. On top of that, her blood protein was low. She had worms too! So, we got rid of the worms, and are feeding her with healthy food. But now she has a higher risk for her surgery. I was wondering if her low blood protein levels had to do with being malnurished from having a large amount of round worms...so we are waiting and will have her tested in a month. She has to be an indoor and only kitty now, because of the FIV. It's sad. I told her previous owner about the FIV, so she could alert the kitten owners. Any thoughts? We love her and she loves us, so it's good.
