In response to cat litter posted by lindyflood:
Oh the feline pine can be very hard for cats to adjust to. Tidy Cat clay litter works great for the babies to learn in!
I had to try yet another litter with my Hooch today. We loved the Dr. Elsey's because it completely eliminated the odor, but it wasn't clumping. So I tried World's Best Cat Litter - did not completely control his odor, and I didn't like the way it smelled when it got wet.
I need something that I can get locally and not have to mailorder, too, or drive to Nashville... so I've been going down the line of Tidy Cats at Krogers. Last week, we tried the Small Spaces - worked about 85% on the odor and clumped REALLY well. So this week, we're trying the Crystals Mix. That way, I get the odor power of the crystals and the clumping of the clay - I'm hoping this works.
Hope all your little ones have a fun week!

Kittens are having a great time and getting very socialized. I have to say that Izzie is just the cutest kitten in the world. She is the nost common of the colors of all the kittens but her personality is so amazing. She just loves me! When I go in and lay down she runs to me and cuddles and rubs up against my face and purrs. I have never seen anything like it! she also just loves to lay on her back. She is always showing me her belly. She cleans her paws that way too. I truly have never seen such a young kitten be so affectionate and bond as intensely as she has. Polly was similar and but not as much as Izzie. It is true she absolutely picked me! It is also cute how Bear tries to come over a scooch in on our bonding time. She isn't as outwardly affectioniate as Izzie but likes to lay close to me and play. I hpoe to get batteries today and take pictures so i can sopw you how cute they are! Also, Maybe you can tell me if you think that Ophelia Now Kyo) will be a medium haired kitty..she looks like she might be to me...although not sure how that gentic would work it's way in there.

It is amazing the bond you have when you've raised a kitten! And then there's one in every litter that just steals your heart like Izzie has!
She sounds simply adorable!
Oh I'd love to see pictures!

But of course they are all worth every stinky minute and I wouldnt have changed this experience for the world!
Your Bella is quite the beautiful young lady too. My how gorgeous! and I like the name Peyton that Hoosier picked so much I am thinking of changing Fluffa nutters name to Eli! Guess which team I like! Would that make Hoosier's Peyton and my grandmothers Eli (formally fluffa nutter) brothers..lol?

I guess I've been lucky - mine have completely litter box trained by 4-5 weeks old, and Dutches cleans up completely after them until they do start using the box regularly. I just have to change out blankets frequently to keep urine out. I have to scoop boxes a couple times a day, too... of course this is all I do, so all my time can be devoted to the kitties.
Yep, even with the stinky side, raising a litter is a wonderful experience! ![]()
Thanks for the compliment on Bella - I can't wait to see what she looks like at about 12 weeks old - kittens are just about perfect then, and I'm anxious to see her coat all fluffy and full!
hehehe Another little Manning! You know we Tennesseans take full credit for those two boys, even if they did end up with y'all! LOL

Well they all appear to be litter trained and they are now just over 6 weeks old but they really make a mess...lol litter everywhere and I have been trying to keep up with it daily but still a little stinky...lol They are in my 9 year old daughter Ireland's room so I owe her big time after they leave. I promised her a new area rug (purple..lol) and some cool accessories..lol She is a neat freak oddly enough so this is challenging for her to live with...but of course she too thinks they are worth every bit of it!

Oh yes, they do track litter all over, don't they! Thank goodness they grow out of the desire to PLAY in the litter box as they get older LOL
New room decorations! Nice reward for being a good aunt to the kittens ![]()
Mine are working me to death LOL It's like having 2 litters at the same time since there are so many of them. I wouldn't miss a minute with them, though! And this group is exceptionally social and affectionate. They're going to be just priceless at about 6 weeks old - I can't wait!
Hope y'all have a great day!

» ThatCrazyCatLady - Getting rid of cat fleas...
In response to Home for ophelia posted by lindyflood:
You don't necessarily have to see fleas or flea dirt in order to have fleas. Here's everything she'll need to know about getting rid of them completely...
http://cats.suite101.com/blog.cfm/cat_fl...
Since she has a doggie, bombing isn't a bad idea. I'm sure she is going to revolution the dog and the other cat, too, but I'd make sure of it. They will also need to be wormed AND treated for tapeworm...
http://cats.suite101.com/article.cfm/tre...
I know that I never get bitten by fleas or any other kind of insect, but if there is one in the house, it will hunt down my husband and bite him about 1,000 times LOL
You could tell her that you'll keep Ophelia until she has bombed and everything because all the animals have to be out of the house to do it, and it will save her a lot of trouble. Putting Revolution on the kitten and putting her in a house that has fleas is a waste of money for both the revolution AND whatever worming you've done!
I'd keep Ophelia with me until about a week after your sis's house has been bombed and everyone has been flea treated.
Hope that helps some! It's hard making all the right decisions about your precious kittens AND not offending others sometimes, I know! But you've put a lot of hard work into raising them well, and you've done a really great job with them!
