» lindyflood - Hi all
Just thought I would catch up. I have been pretty busy...my family and pets keep me running! Not to mention work, so I am sorry I have not been in to catch up lately.
Well we are finally down to one kitty and we are keeping her...We ended up with Aloha! As they got older and their personalities changed partly due to age but also I think due to the group becoming smaller, I could clearly see which kitty should go to which family. Their personalities literally changed on a day to day basis. Aloha was sort of aloof in the beginning and really was not so interested in humans as much as playing with her littermates and toys..but now she is so lovable and has mellowed. Izzie, the very affectionate runt ended up too shy to be in a multi cat/pet household and I think the group was stunting her so she went to a house where she is the only game in town. She is thriving! Fluffanutter was the last to go and my daughters baby so when it came time to give him up she was devasted. It was hard. She cried for a week but he really needed to go to a multi pet household because he loved the constant action and playfullness and was also a very loving cat to humans. He enjoys big families and I tried to keep him (on the sly) but my husbands allergies were just too bad so I to let him go. So when the opportunity arose with a big multi-pet family that absolutely fell in love with him and begged for him I had to let him go. So in the end, my decisions were for the best of the kitty and not so much which I wanted. I ended up loving each one pretty much exactly the same for who they are. I am working right now..taking a break...and I am looking over on the couch at my two girls..Polly and Aloha and I am the luckiest happiest person ever! Oh by the way..when they spayed Polly they found a huge nasal polyp blocking her sinuses, so they removed it and now she is breeathing through her nose for the first time in her life..lol. although interestingly enough she has lost her "meow". It is so faint I can barely hear it and she used to bellow! I will send pics soon! Would like to learn more about the healing and will check out that class..my dad has been ill so I am thinking I can apply it to him. Is it the same for cats and humans?

Well you've certainly had all kinds of changes! I'm glad everyone is in their homes and settled in - I miss them when they go but also enjoy the rest! LOL
And yes ma'am, the energy therapy works the same with humans! You just have to get their permission to do it... but we'll definitely cover that as we go along.
It's great to see you! ![]()
I've gotta run - hubby's father had a heart attack last night... but I'll be adding to the "class" thread every couple of days - feel free to jump in if you have any questions at all!

Good Morning
I've got to say what a Journey I have embarked on. I just can't get enough on Reiki! I am spending hours reading and researching everything I can find! My own personal battles are becoming like things of the past....All because of one little feral kitten named Abner. I am starting to see the purpose of his visit with me. You see I was suffering! with a deep rooted depression I could not explain or treat. With the more knowledge I absorb, I am finding peace of mind and heart. I have tears this morning over how troubled his little life was...I just wish I could have done more....Just for Today...I will give Thanks for my many blessings...I will not worry...I will not Anger...I will do my work honestly...I will be kind to my neighbor and every living thing!
Peace

(((Joyce))) I am so glad that Abner brought you to us! Everything certainly happens for a reason! Abner's short life served such purpose!
I am always amazed at how animals are able to touch us and change our lives, often in ways we never imagined were possible!
Love & Hugs,
Dar

It's great to see you!!!
No more litters as of the moment - I am patiently waiting for one of my girls to break the laws of nature and go into heat LOL Last year, a couple of my girls had winter heats, but many cats completely stop having heats from the first of Nov to the end of Jan. I would love to have some babies around the house, though!
Which gave me Layla, I reckon LOL We've always had dogs before, but our last mastiff ran away at the beginning of last summer, and I just haven't been ready to fall in love with another dog. Figured having at least a couple months without kittens would give me time for house training, but Layla learned all that the first day she was here hahaha Last night, I was throwing toys into the kitchen and telling her which one to bring me back, and she did it every time! An amazing girl!
We ended up not keeping Bella. I had a lady email saying her kitten had just passed away, and I liked her so much that I let her adopt Bella. Also, I just have not been able to find a cream point male, so keeping girls that are Hooch's daughters didn't make much sense for me... I hate making decisions like that.
Glad to hear your babies are doing well together! That's funny that they're playing with your feet... once we had SO many kitties trying to sleep in the bed with us, we had to lock them all out of the bedroom at night LOL
Glad to hear your dad is coming out of the hospital! Father-in-law is out and doing as well as he was before this last heart attack. My mother-in-law SWEARS he just wanted to make her cancel her trip to Myrtle Beach that weekend LOL
Thanks for stopping by! It's always nice to hear from you!

Of course as soon as we have a breeding, I start nesting like crazy myself LOL I will actually have help with our spring litters this year. My sister-in-law is going to come out a couple times a week - one deep cleaning day and then again on bath day. So right now, I'm working on chore lists for each room I'll have kittens in.
The newborn kittens (up to 4 weeks old) are raised in my office where I spend most of my time. And the 4-8 week old kittens have the nursery, which is a spare bedroom set up as Kitty Land
Then the other cats stay out in the rest of our house, which has to be considered part of our cattery since we don't cage, and it requires all the same daily cleaning and sanitizing. It'll be so nice to have help!
Anyway, that's what we're up to around here
Hope everything is going well with all of you and that you have Happy Holidays!!

Wow! Hooch has been getting busy! lol Congratulations!
Was dutches planned? I think Hooch ha a soft spot for her...bet she is the lead wife..lol
This should be interesting and exciting haviong so many kitties around at once! Now buttercup is next? at least you give your self a little space...but not much!
Question...do you keep the Hooch separate from the other cats? how do you time it so to speak?
Things are going well here. Polly is doing great and getting chubby since she has been fixed. Aloha is wonderful and so much fun. She needs to go for more shots then she will be fixed too. She is 5 months olds already! Such a love and so affectionate with the kids. I love to see Polly be so playful with her baby and still be such a mommy by cleaning her up and sometimes reprimanding her. Polly seem so much happier with her baby then she was alone. When she lost her sister at 8 months I could see a change in her but now she is back to her old self. It was cute too, I had the flu and Polly was by my siode on the bed for a week! She rarely left me. Funny how they know when your sick.
Talk soon! Happy holidays!!

Thank ya ma'am!
Oh yes, all my litters are planned (though Dutches has been sneaky about a couple herself LOL). I'm breeding now for my spring litters and have about 20 people on my waiting lists!
Yes, Buttercup is next. What I do is breed all my cats no closer than 30 days apart. I've got the newborn kitten area set up right behind my desk since I spend so much time here. And then the 4-8 week old kittens are in the big nursery. So if I breed 30 days apart, by the time the nursery kittens go home at 8 weeks old, the newborns will have reached 4 weeks old and will move into the big nursery. Then if I want, I can have more newborns in my office.
I keep Hooch separated by keeping him in a different room from the other girls. He gets to spend some time out playing with them, but since he's an aggressive breeder (will mate with anyone, anytime, heat or not), I have to watch his moods and completely separate him when he starts pouncing the girls... he goes through totally mellow phases, too. Silly fella
So sometimes he's in my office, sometimes my bedroom... he travels.
That's another reason I put up those see-through doors - so that even when they're all separated, they can see and chat with each other
They're very social kitties! LOL I don't want anyone being lonely, but I sure don't believe in just letting your cats breed at well. I'm very careful with my space / kitty ratio so we are healthy and stress free!
I'm glad to hear your babies are doing so well! Dutches doesn't play with Lily - I thought that was odd that she just cut her off completely after she was weaned. Of course Dutches doesn't care for other cats in general LOL She tolerates their presence because she's "Top Dawg" around here.
Polly sounds like an angel! The weather here has been so dreary that I'd love to spend a day curled up in bed with the kitties... without the flu part, though! ![]()
Happy holidays to you, too! It's always nice to see you!
