In response to Abner posted by balihai_red: Aw, the poor little fella! Do you have a vaporizer? He may very well end up needing a shot of antibiotics for this if he's rattley sounding in his little chest.
How old is he now? If he's old enough, you could see about starting him on the intranasal "vaccinations." (Is it called a vaccination if it isn't a shot? I don't know.) Some vets and breeders start using these as early as 2 weeks old for at-risk kittens, but I've never done that myself because I haven't had any orphaned kittens that didn't have another queen to nurse them. I'll send him some healing, too, if you don't mind!

In response to Abner posted by ThatCrazyCatLady: Well it is a good morning, I have had Abner for another day. Despite this respiratory thing , he is still hanging on. He is a real toughie. The congestion does not sound as bad. I really did not think he would make it through the night. I have a vaporizer going and I guess it is up to the antibiotics and Abner. Good sign though....they both start with an "A". I am offering him his formula about every 2 hours again. He gets very tired nursing. He is 5 weeks old now. He is very tiny in comparison to a normal Kitten at 5 weeks. I'll check on the nasal things. Sounds good. I think they are still immunizations just not really vaccinations because they are not a shot. I know he has to be "well" before he can have the immunization. Just keep on sending the Healing!

In response to Abner posted by balihai_red: Oh my goodness, he is such a tough little guy! Yes, you're right about the immunizations - you can't give them while they're sick or even weak. I hope the antibiotics work quickly on him and will definitely keep sending healing to the little angel.
Is he eating anything solid? And I wonder if baby vitamins would help give him some energy? Or a little karo syrup under the tongue... maybe if he were perked up before a feeding, he'd be able to eat more.

In response to Abner posted by ThatCrazyCatLady: I'll give the Karo Syrup a try. I am offering electrolytes also. He won't eat anything solid. I have some "kitty tuna" maybe if he just licks the juice. He is hanging right in there though. Getting maybe half tablespoon down him per feeding. I let him rest and offer more. Sometimes he drinks a little more. The yogurt in his formula is keeping his little tummy under control. Thank Goodness for yogurt! And as I have said before Thank You very much!!!!!Keep the healing coming!

In response to Abner posted by ThatCrazyCatLady: Good Morning Darlene, Oh by the way my name is Joyce. Abner passed this morning. My heart is so hurting. He is at rest now, no more struggles. His little life was so racked with problems. He was such a joy to be with. He is sadly missed. I know he had a big support team and I want to thank everyone who sent healing and love to him. Now his journey is over. He was sooooo precious. Now I am with the task of dismantling all the accessories that we accumulated for his journey. Thanks Again from the bottom of my heart Darlene, for all you have done.
Love to all.......Joyce:(

In response to Abner posted by balihai_red: Oh Joyce! I'm so sorry! (((HUGS))) Having lost one of the kittens from our last litter when he was 6 weeks old, I know how badly it hurts. But I'll tell you the same thing everyone told me - that kitten knew more love from a human than many cats ever get to know in a lifetime. There was a purpose for Abner coming to you, and I think he was a very lucky kitten to be in your care!
You're very welcome, and I am glad to have gotten to share Abner's life and story. It's good to know that folks are out there who do care enough to fight for a little kitten's life and give them a chance they would've never gotten! I'll keep you in my prayers as you recover from the loss of such a special little fella (((HUGS)))

In response to Abner posted by ThatCrazyCatLady: Sorry it took a little bit to reply here.....We laid Abner to rest with my Rat Terrier Margie that I lost last summer. She just loved Kittens! They are together under a Walnut Tree that I keep decorated for every season and Holiday. We are going to put mums there today. I am told they will come back next year also. My tears have slowed and I can think of Abner swatting my gold cross necklace. I really miss him....but the rest of my gang is going out of their way to be cute! Funny how they know my saddness. I know he was sent to me for a reason....I am open and receptive now like I have never been before. I am exploring the "healing" and Imagery things. Doing as much research as I can. Thank You again Darlene, You are a good person and thanks to Abner I discovered you! Keep up the good work and I'll stop by and say Hello from Time to Time. With Love and Peace Joyce

In response to Abner posted by balihai_red: I am so sorry about your Abner. I do believe all things happen for a reason so Abner must have been a pretty important part of your life to bring such joy and enlightenment. I too have lost a kitten and know how hard it is. I would bet my last dollar that Abner and Margie aer up there together having some play tmie. My prayers are with you and it is wonderful to see you are enjoying the memories of his life rather then focusing on the death. I know easier said then done. God Bless you.
