» ThatCrazyCatLady - Did you rescue your cat or adopt her from a shelter?

If you have a feline rescue story, we'd love to hear it! You might encourage someone to take a chance and adopt a cat from their local shelter!

Right before we moved to our new house, I went to the shelter and picked up our Weezie. She's a beautiful solid black cat with the most stunning eyes and the sweetest face! She hid under our bed for 2 weeks before she finally decided she'd give us a try, and she's been the most loving kitty in the world ever since! The great thing was that Weezie was already spayed, had all her shots, and had been tested for all the bad kitty diseases, so she was all taken care of and all we had to do was love her, and we sure do!

I'll find a picture of her this evening and post it - she's a beauty!

» hoosierbug - Adopting from a shelter

I have always been a cat person. I love all cats, but my heart belongs to all persians. We lost 2 wonderful cats last year, a 12 year old yellow tiger named Morris and my beloved 6 year old himalayan, Mr. Sandman. Without them, we just have a house, not a home. So, we decided to get a kitten from a breeder. It was a time when things did not work out, so we not able to get the kitten. We did, however, adopt an adorable 1 1/2 year old yellow tiger guy named Justus from a local shelter. He is wonderful. So full of life and joy to finally have a family of his own. I highly recommend adopting from a shelter, so many wonderful animals are waiting there for families. If you can give just one animal love that it has never known, you have done something special. I am now also an anxious waiting parent to be this spring for a little persian boy or girl. I think most people have room in their hearts and homes for "one more." After all, as I have said to my friend Darlene, cats are like potato chips, you can never have just one.

Oh what a lucky kitty little Justus is, too!

And of course I agree that one kitty is never enough! :-)

Thanks so much for sharing your story!!
