Learn all about the needs of new kittens and how much you can expect it to cost to raise her before you make the decision to adopt!

Having decided to keep our little Bella from our last litter, I thought it would be a good time to compile an article on how much it costs to raise a new kitten. Of course it’s just par for the course when you’re running a cattery, but I had never really written down and tallied up all the expenses together before, so I was actually surprised by how much it costs to raise a teensy little kitten!

I wondered if my vet was just a little expensive, so I decided to check with several different veterinarians in and around the Nashville area and compare prices so that I was able to write the article based on a medium-range average. I found it to be much less expensive to adopt an older cat, where a set of adult vaccinations is a yearly cost at around $66.00, and if you adopt an already spayed or neutered kitty, you save even more!

Of course if your family budget can afford a new kitten, there’s just nothing more wonderful in the world, I don’t think! Bella has fit into the family very well, and it’s so much fun to watch her play! I’ll only be able to keep new kittens as I retire adult females now, so I’m enjoying my time with her! No matter how much the little diva costs me.
